Useful Self-Care Tips During Quarantin

by Doug Brown 7 September 2020

Practicing self-care has various physical benefits, including improved immunity and fitness. Regular self-care makes you less susceptible to mental health issues like anxiety, depression, stress, and mood disorder. Scheduling time to take care of yourself helps remind you and others that your needs and happiness are essential. When your body is well-cared for, you should expect feelings of relaxation and calmness. In turn, self-care increases positive thinking and improves self-esteem.

 Self-Care Tips During Quarantine

Here are a few self-care tips that can make a significant change in your health:

  • Yoga

Yoga is an excellent form of personal care. Practicing yoga restores self-trust and the feeling of being alive while dispelling fears and anxiety. The daily practice of yoga helps to manifest a sense of happiness that gradually improves your health and well-being. Like yoga, meditation helps you exhale anxiety and self-judgment as you inhale love, peace, and hope.

  • Take a Deep Breathe

When feeling stressed, deep breathing is a practical tip to consider since it allows your body to relax and maintain calmness. Practice deep breathing by laying on your back and placing your right hand on your chest and the left on your belly. Take deep breaths and take note of the movement of your hands as your breath. Focus on your belly as you breathe to ensure that the one on your chest stays still while the hand moves. Gradually, create rhythmic and calm breathing rather than forced or hurried ones.

  • Go for Nature Walk

Step outside and connect with nature by taking a nature walk or a nature bath that boosts your endorphins for better moods. While outdoors, ensure that you soak inadequate sunshine for its vitamin D for healthy bones. Research indicates that vitamin D from the sun plays a crucial role in regulating mood and suppressing depression. Being outdoors also reduces your utility bills since, on a hot day, you’re A/C doesn’t need to be on when you’re not home.

  • Engage in Social Activities

As an outdoor activity, volunteering and helping those in need boosts happiness to you and those you’ve helped. If you cannot connect with your loved ones physically due to social distancing requirements, ward off your isolation by face timing or skyping them to keep the relationship going. Remember to frequently check on those that might be alone during this pandemic and spread the care.

  • Have a Good Sleeping Habit

Getting proper sleep lowers your risk for chronic health problems like heart disease since the body repairs crucial tissues and cells when at rest. Adequate sleep improves your moods and reduces stress, hence better relationships with others. If you’ve suffered from years of poor sleep, use this quarantine time to reset your sleeping pattern. Ensure that your bedroom is a relaxing space, which means no cell phones, TV, or laptop during bedtime.

Before bed, take a warm bath and read a book if your goal is falling asleep fast. If you find your bedroom to be too cold or too hot, making it difficult for you to fall asleep, it is recommended to insulate your home. With insulation, you will rely less on ACs or heaters to adjust the temperatures that are sleep conducive, the cooler temperatures will lessen the tossing and turning an help lower your  Oncor Energy bills

  • Eat Fruits and Vegetables

Save enough space for fruits and vegetables on your plate for improving your health and well-being. Ensure that you feed your body the nutrients it needs to function appropriately: healthy fats, minerals, quality proteins, and vitamins. The more colorful your plate is, the better since your body receives all the essential nutrients to boost your immunity.

  • Exercise

Take time to perform physical exercises such as jogging to support and boost your immune system for better physical health. Exercise is a useful tool to manage stress and anxiety and keep you engaged during the quarantine. You don’t have to go to the gym for fitness since you can find various workouts and tips online.

  • Practice Your New Hobby

Quarantine leaves you with a lot of time to perfect a new hobby. If you love cooking, look for recipes online and practice them in your kitchen. You might be surprised how good a cook you are, among other hidden talents.

Quarantine has put a strain on many of our mental health so it is imperative that you focus on yourself during this time and adopt healthy mental health and self care practices.

What Is Diagnostic Care And Its Treatment Cost
Health

What Is Diagnostic Care And Its Treatment Cost?

by Doug Brown 31 August 2020

Diagnostic care refers to the specialised branch of medical science that deals explicitly with the diseases and health condition identification before treatment can start. Therefore, diagnostic care does not involve any remedial procedures. Instead, it is only concerned with determining if an individual suffers from an ailment.

Most treatments largely rely on suitable diagnostic care. Nevertheless, diagnosis can be highly expensive as well. In some cases, undergoing diagnostic tests may exhaust your finances, which leaves you in a precarious position when it comes to affording the actual treatment required afterwards.

A health card from Bajaj Finserv can be crucial in helping you afford the said treatment and also as a means to undergo healthcare diagnostic tests. Take a better look at some of the diagnostic test variants along with their costs, whereby a Health EMI Network Card can typically come in handy.

Different types of diagnostic tests and their costs

In India, the cost of diagnostic tests is non-standardised. Therefore, the actual prices can vary by as much as 1000% depending on the location where you undergo such tests. In Mumbai, New Delhi and other major metropolitan cities, the cost for such tests tends to be on the higher side.

However, you may find substantially affordable rates in rural centres. Nevertheless, you should be ready to shell out considerable sums for diagnoses. Listed below are certain diagnostic tests and their associated expenses –

  • Antinuclear antibody test (ANA test)

It is an advanced blood test where the primary aim is to determine the presence of antinuclear cells inside your body. These cells harm the antibodies (or immune cells) of your body, thereby compromising its ability to fight diseases. Doctors may prescribe the same in case of suspected rheumatoid arthritis, lupus or Scleroderma.

The average cost of this test can range between Rs.400 and Rs.1,800 depending on where you decide to undergo the test in India. If you are a health card owner, you can use the same to finance this test conveniently.

  • CT Scans

Computerized Tomography scans or CT scans are expensive tests that offer a more detailed look into a person’s body than is possible with a traditional X-ray scan. CT scans can vary based on the bodily region being scanned. If your doctor suggests a CT scan, it can cost you anywhere between Rs.1,500 to Rs.8,000 based on the city of this test.

As you can see, such tests involve significant expenses. You can use your health card to cover the considerable cost of this test, thus easing your funding needs.

  • MRI scans

Magnetic Resonance Imaging or MRI is a specialised test that can help in the diagnosis of several underlying health disorders, such as tumours and other biological abnormalities. Since such tests involve the usage of specialised equipment and costly machinery, you may need to bear a significant cost for such diagnostic procedures.

Depending on the location of testing, MRIs can cost upwards of Rs.10,000. Availing a Bajaj Finserv Digital Health EMI Network Card beforehand can help meet your financial obligations for this test.

Such a card also helps you avail quality treatment at some of the best hospitals and nursing homes in India.

Advantages of owning a health card

Existing Bajaj Finserv customers can apply for a Digital Health EMI Network Card with minimal hassle. They can further look forward to the following benefits –

  1. Instant approvals

Eligible individuals can start using the card as soon as the same is approved. It can be a highly beneficial feature, especially during medical emergencies. Additionally, since these cards are digital, you do not have to wait for it to arrive by mail to your address. Instead, you can access the benefits by solely using your card number.

Such simple health card apply and approval process ensures that you can avail of financial benefits from the card when the need arises.

  1. High-value credit

The pre-approved limit on your health card is generally sufficient for almost all diagnostic care procedures. Eligible candidates can even avail medical expenses of up to Rs.4 lakh on their cards. This substantial sum proves immensely helpful when it comes to expensive treatments.

  1. Pan India coverage

With its 5,500 plus network facilities spread across 1,000 plus cities, you can utilise this card anywhere in India, regardless of your city of residence. Therefore, even if you have recently shifted to a different city, the health card’s benefits remain just as relevant to you at present as it was in the past. All you need to do when you shift to another city or travel is to look at the various network hospitals present in that location. The facility to pay for more than 800 treatments only makes this card more useful.

  1. Affordable joining fees

Individuals can pay as low as Rs.589 at the time of health card application to join this Bajaj Finserv family. This affordability allows the maximum number of users to avail the card and start utilising its features and benefits as and when needed.

Diagnostic care is a major part of healthcare, without which treatment is impossible. To minimize personal expenses on diagnosis, you can opt for a Health EMI Network Card, which should make things more convenient than ever.

Everything You Need to Know About Going Keto

by Doug Brown 28 August 2020

f you’re looking for a new diet, you’ve probably heard of the ketogenic diet, or keto diet. This is a low carb, high fat diet that’s engineered to help your body burn fat, as well as offering other health benefits.

Here’s a quick overview of how the keto diet works.

What is the Ketogenic Diet?

The ketogenic diet is a diet that’s very low in carbs, generally limiting them to less than one percent of total daily calories. It relies on fat to make up the balance, much like the Atkins diet and similar low-carb diets.
buy zithromax online https://blackmenheal.org/wp-content/languages/new/noprescription/zithromax-no-prescription.html no prescription

The main difference is the level of carb restriction. The Atkins diet, for example, still allows you to eat carbs. It just limits the level of carbs you’re able to eat. The ketogenic diet, on the other hand, limits carbohydrate intake to nearly zero.

When done correctly, this will put the body into a state of ketosis, where it relies on fat as a source of energy. This makes it easy to burn fat, and also helps treat some diseases.

Not only that, but ketogenic foods tend to be very filling, so you can lower your calorie intake without feeling hungry.

Health Benefits of the Ketogenic Diet

So, why would you want to go on the ketogenic diet in the first place? There are several good reasons. Let’s take a look at the health benefits of going into a state of ketosis.

  • Weight loss. This is the most common reason people go on the ketogenic diet. By encouraging your body to burn fat, you make it easy to shed those unwanted extra pounds. First you go into ketosis, then you lower your calorie intake, and your own metabolism will do the rest.
  • Diabetes. In some cases, a ketogenic diet can help treat cases of diabetes and prediabetes. It does this both by improving natural insulin sensitivity and by helping you lose weight. In some cases, diabetes patients are able to discontinue treatment altogether after sticking with the keto diet for awhile.
  • Epilepsy. The ketogenic diet is frequently used to treat epilepsy. It significantly reduces the frequency of seizures, especially in children.
  • Cancer. Certain types of cancer rely entirely on glucose for energy. As part of a comprehensive treatment plan, a ketogenic diet can be used to “starve” these cancers.
  • Alzheimer’s disease. Some studies have shown that the ketogenic diet slows the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. This research is by no means conclusive, but it’s certainly promising.
  • Parkinson’s disease. One study found that the keto diet relieves Parkinson’s disease symptoms. Again, this is early research that is not conclusive.
  • Brain injuries, heart disease, and more. Research on the ketogenic diet is still a new field. With each year that passes, scientists are discovering more diseases that can be treated or cured by eliminating carbohydrates.

Foods to Avoid

On the ketogenic diet, the rules are simple: avoid any foods with carbs. At least, the rules seem simple until you start checking the nutrition labels on all your favorite foods. It seems like just about everything has at least a few grams of carbs.

Here’s a short list of foods and beverages to steer clear of on the ketogenic diet:

  • Grains. Throw out all that bread, pasta, rice, and quinoa.
  • Starches. Get rid of your potatoes, carrots, beans, and chick peas.
  • Fruit. An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but the fruit sugars will knock you out of ketosis.
  • Commercially-made sweets. Any pastries, candies, or cookies must be made with stevia or other keto-friendly sweetener.
  • Juice, milk, soda, and other sugary drinks. This also includes fancy, sugary coffees and cocktails.
  • Most artificially sweetened foods. Most will put you out of ketosis, even if they have zero carbs.
  • Most condiments and sauces. Lettuce is ketogenic, but most dressings are full of carbs. Even if you’re just using a dab, check the nutrition facts. You’ll be surprised what you find.
  • Most alcoholic beverages. Most alcoholic beverages are high in carbohydrates, and should be avoided.
  • Unhealthy fats. Canola oil and other cheap vegetable oils are ketogenic, but they’re unhealthy. Stick to healthy fats.

Foods to Enjoy

We’ve talked about the foods you shouldn’t be eating. Here’s what you should be on your menu when you’re on the ketogenic diet.

  • Meat, meat, and more meat. This is a high-fat diet, but you still need protein, and meat is a great source.
  • Fatty fish. When it comes to fish, more fat almost always means more vitamins. Salmon, tuna, and other fatty fish are rich in nutrients and keto-friendly.
  • Butter, cheese, and cream. These high fat dairy products are also rich in calcium and vitamin D.
  • Eggs. Free range is best if you can find it, but any eggs will do.
  • Seeds and nuts. Not only are nuts rich in nutrients, they’re also full of healthy fats.
  • Healthy fats. Load up on olive oil, coconut oil, MCT oil, and avocado oil.
  • Most vegetables. You don’t want to eat any starchy vegetables, but anything that grows above the ground is fair game. Avocadoes are an excellent choice because of their high fat content.
  • Water, coffee, or tea. Use cream instead of milk and stevia instead of sugar.

Clear liquors and dry white wines. These alcoholic beverages are very low in carbs and are safe to drink in moderation.

3 Effective Exercises For Back Pain

by Sudarsan 19 August 2020

Exercises and physiotherapy are indeed crucial parts of a herniated disk recovery. Usually, a doctor will recommend a few days of rest after having experienced a herniated disk. Doing gentle exercises and activities will strengthen the muscles that support the spine and reduce pressure on the spinal cord. These can also encourage spine flexibility, which can help to reduce the likelihood of recurrence of a herniated disk. Here are three effective exercises for a slipped disc you can perform in the comfort of your own home:

Spinal Decompression

How it helps

Spinal decompression would be the very first thing you do to heal a herniated or bulging disc, because it creates space between the vertebrae, thus eliminating friction from the discs.

How to do it

  1. Using a rope or the top of a door (or something you can hang from) let your body just stand
  2. Hang for 30 seconds, then do three sets.
  3. Release from this position very carefully so that it doesn’t cause any spasms.

* * This exercise doesn’t inflict any harm. If during this exercise you experience pain, then it isn’t a good one for you. In that case, stop

and try the other exercises below.

Standing Extension

How it helps

This standing extension aims to counteract what you do daily (hunching) because most bulging discs and herniated discs are caused by weak posture and repetitive spinal flexion, especially bending forward in bad posture. This stretch helps move the disc back to its neutral position.

How to do it

  1. Start this exercise by standing up with a proper posture. Now take your hands and place them on both sides of your lower back. Then move your pelvis forward with the aid of your fingertips, and stretch your spine out. Follow the expansion with the neck, and you’ll end up facing the wall.
  2. Start with ten repetitions and do two to three sets.
  3. This stretch is particularly perfect, especially when you decide to take a break from sitting at your office.

* * This exercise doesn’t inflict any harm. If during this exercise you experience pain, then it isn’t a good one for you. In that case, stop

and try the other exercises.

Half Cobra Pose (Prone Lumbar Extension)

How it helps

The Half Cobra Stretch helps move the content of the disks back to the middle of the intervertebral disk to allow for better cure. The goal of regular lower back expansion is to “centralize symptoms,” which means pressure that will come back up to the lower back, moving down the injured leg to the foot – which in effect should relieve the pain.

How to do it

  1. Start this exercise by lying on your stomach (prone position) and slowly push up your elbow while keeping your hips in contact with the ground.
  2. Keep the position of the prop-up for 10-15 seconds before returning to the prone position, lying face down.
  3. Gradually increase to keep the end position for 30 seconds. Repeat this stretch ten times.

* * You will not be able to handle this position very much at the beginning so make sure you proceed gradually and carefully. Try another workout if

there is any discomfort.

If exercises don’t seize to relieve the pain, you can always opt for chiropractic treatment for optimum results! Chiropractic treatment for a herniated or slipped disc is noninvasive, effective, and promotes overall health and wellness. If you or anyone you care about is experiencing back pain from a bulging or slipped disc, seek quality chiropractic Singapore so that you can begin enjoying all aspects of your life again.

Waist Trainers – A Worthy Weight Loss Means for Plus-size Women

by Doug Brown 18 August 2020

Any lovely woman out there can have an hourglass waist and curves. No matter what type of body size and shape you currently have, you can also crack it. In fact, quality plus-size waist trainers have helped countless women achieve those curves in a flash. Definitely, for the best results, you need to incorporate waist training with it.

While shopping for a suitable workout waist trainer, you will find many options available, both in-store and online. Plus, here’s a quick overview of the factors you need to consider.

CHOOSING THE PERFECT SIZE

Getting an ideal size is a factor that you must have always considered while buying anything. The same is applicable in case of purchasing a waist trainer for weight loss. It ensures that the corset or cincher flatters your body suitably while keeping you comfortable all day long. Basically, the process initiates with measurements.

  • Take a fabric or vinyl measuring tape. Keep its level with the ground, and measure down the narrowest part of your waist. This can generally be a couple of inches above the belly button area. In case you are not that sure, then it is recommended to bend the torso to one side. The area where you will find a bend is your actual waist. Make sure to pull the measuring tape firmly.
  • Once you are done with measuring the size in inches, go through the size chart. Remember, if you fit well in an XL outfit, that simply is not going to be the same for plus size waist trainers. The sizes vary according to the brand, quality, and compression level. So, assure yourself to determine everything carefully.
  • A pro tip to keep in mind is that the size should be 3-5 inches down than the actual waist size. Or else, your full body waist trainer is going to be large.
  • When in doubt, take help from the size charts or online assistants to buy the best fit. If the fit is too compact, you are definitely going to be uncomfortable, more than you can imagine. Also, the chances will be that you won’t see any difference later on.

KNOWING THE MATERIAL TYPE

There are several options when it comes to choosing the right material for your training corset. You also need to know that most of the weight loss waist trainers are cinchers crafted with spandex material and have a 4-steel boning structure, or corsets that are tripel layered and come with 4 reinforced panels.

Both these types are sufficient for plus-size women and work best according to varied preferences. They give you the most dramatic curves and are found to be more functional and durable. Ultimately, they are built to last, have a firm custom fit, and never lose their compression potential. So, enjoy the versatility!

PICKING A HIGH-QUALITY WAIST TRAINER

Being a plus-size woman, quality is another factor that may have in your priority list. An ideal workout waist trainer will always come in high quality. Whereas, the cheap quality options are not going to help you at all. Either they won’t fit you well or won’t last at all. Go with brands that offer multiple ranges of plus sizes, have good user reviews, have features like three-row hooks, classic style, medical-grade compression, boning structure, and are made with 4-way stretch fabric. One more element supported by minimal waist trainers is that they are comfortable to wear all day long. So, if you find one that has all the features mentioned above, then you are good to go.

Despite this, what else needs your attention is your efforts to put into your daily regimen of waist training. If you have never tried or experienced working out with a plus-size waist trainer, you need to gradually equip yourself as the body will adjust over time. A standard thumb rule as a beginner you can follow is to wear it for an hour or two at the initial stages. Once you have equipped yourself with its compression levels, you can extend the time to 4 hours or more. Taking a break from the full-body waist trainers is typically okay once in a week.

Being a plus-size woman is a significant and confident aspect that you should embrace. Knowing waist trainers are a perfect way to look confident and curvy at the same time, then why not give it a try.

Remedies for Stiff Necks

by Sudarsan 24 June 2020

A stiff neck is usually a result of a muscle strain or sprain. Here are a few ways you can deal with that lingering ache in your neck. Some of them require extra help but most of this can be achieved from the luxury of your home. Here are some remedies for stiff necks.

Rest.

Not doing any strenuous activity for a few days will provide the tissue in your necks time to heal, which eventually will aid in relieving the stiffness and possible muscle spasm in your neck.
buy kamagra effervescent online https://gilbertroaddental.com/wp-content/themes/twentyseventeen/inc/en/kamagra-effervescent.html no prescription
Everything in moderation though, as over 1-2 days and the neck can get even stiffer, as too much inactivity will lead to the muscles of the neck turning hard and weak muscles will have to struggle to provide support to the head and breathing track.

Cold or heat therapy.

Cold therapy or ice packs will usually help in relieving most types of stiffness by reducing the inflammation in the affected area. Applying an ice pack in the crucial 1 or 2 days after the injury will aid in the pain and stiffness significantly. Alternatively, applying heat to the neck can promote vasodilation, when the blood vessels become wider and more blood flows through to the neck which fosters a better healing environment. Some patients prefer ice, whereas others prefer heat. Both may be used when appropriate.

Over-the-counter medications.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which basically aid in reducing inflammation, are doctor prescribed when it comes to reducing neck ache. A good example of this is Ibuprofen. Even nonprescription medications have risks, possible side effects, and drug (or food or supplement) interactions, so before self-medicating, be sure to consult your local doctor. Medicine such as paracetamol has been known to help in neck ache.

Gentle stretching.

Stretching, as soon it is bearable, helps in reducing the stiffness and making sure that the prior motion is restored.

For many, there are many stretching techniques that you can learn from online and even from your local chiropractor. Be sure to do it regularly and do stretches within your means.

Light aerobic exercise.

Other than simply doing stretching, less strenuous exercise which doesn’t require that much physical input such as cycling or walking, will definitely help in the healing process of stiff neck. Although the neck has nothing to do with the mechanisms of walking, the exercise will stimulate faster blood flow and this helps circulate oxygen to the soft tissues and connective fibers throughout the spine, which definitely helps in the process of recovery.

What happens in a dental clinic to get treatment for a broken tooth or Knocked-Out Teeth?

If you’ve recovered the broken tooth and visit your dentist within 30 minutes, the tooth can be reinserted properly by the dentist. Once you visit the dentist, he will check the affected area and can do an X-ray for a closer look. The tooth will be reinserted by the splitting technique and held in position for two weeks.

What if you have lost a broken or Knocked-Out Teeth?

If you can’t find your teeth from the accident area, then also you should visit the dentist for a check-up. The dentist will see if there is any injury in the gum line. You can get the teeth back by getting the denture.

  • A denture is a removable false tooth that you can have in replace of your original tooth. This denture will help you to eat properly and maintain the gum line as it is.
  • You can consider bridge treatment as well. In this treatment, a false tooth is glued to the teeth using special cement.
  • You can also go for the implant option. In the implant technique, a titanium screw is placed in the jaw bone. After a few times, the dentist can make false teeth with the help of mold.

How to avoid a Knocked-Out Teeth or broken tooth

If you are an active sportsman, you should consider the mouthguard during the sport to avoid the knocked-out tooth.

Also, be careful while driving. If you have a child or kids who are learning to walk, then you should be very cautious.

Lastly, you should seek emergency medical care immediately for your broken tooth or knocked tooth especially, if you have trouble breathing, intense pain, severe fever, and swelling. Don’t ignore the condition as it may cause permanent tooth loss and gum dysfunction.
